A Vision for Leadership in Property Management

We sat down with Brittany Hardin, newly promoted President of Property Management for Fivestone, to talk about her insights on leadership, the future of property management, and advice for aspiring professionals.

For over a decade, Brittany has been an integral part of the Wilks Development team, advancing from a multifamily property manager to an executive role. With a career built on dedication and resilience, she embodies the qualities that drive success in the industry.

A Personal and Professional Milestone

For Hardin, this promotion represents more than just a new title - it’s a testament to the value of persistence and passion.

"This promotion means a lot to me, both personally and professionally. On a personal level, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the hard work and dedication come to life. It’s a positive reminder that my passion for property management is paying off. Professionally, it’s a great opportunity to take on new challenges, contribute more to my team, and make a bigger impact on the teams I work alongside. Hard work outweighs talent every time, and this promotion is proof that consistency, determination, and a willingness to put in the effort make all the difference.

I’m especially excited about the chance to mentor others and help shape the future of the industry. As they say, ‘Try never to be the smartest person in the room. And if you are, I suggest you invite smarter people... or find a different room.’ Learning from those around me and building a strong team will be key to continued success."

Shaping the Future of Property Management

As President, Hardin will continue to oversee a team of over 50 employees across multiple cities and manage more than 1.4 million square feet of commercial, retail, hospitality, and industrial space, as well as two multifamily properties. She sees immense potential for Fivestone Management to influence and redefine the property management landscape.

"Fivestone Management has a unique opportunity to lead the way in transforming property management. By focusing on innovation, tenant satisfaction, and efficient operations, Fivestone can set new standards in the industry. The strongest businesses aren’t built on one person but on the smartest people working together toward a common goal. Teamwork truly makes the dream work.

I believe the company has the potential to be a role model by embracing technology, improving processes, and building strong, lasting relationships with tenants and vendors. Most importantly, by investing in employee growth and leadership development, Fivestone can create a workforce that is not only highly skilled but also forward-thinking and adaptable to the evolving needs of property management."

What advice would you give to others aspiring to leadership roles in this field – particularly women in CRE?

"To anyone aiming for leadership, especially women in commercial real estate, my advice is to believe in yourself and the value you bring to the table. To be successful at anything the truth is you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined, and willing to work for it.

Take risks, ask questions, build meaningful relationships, and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself. The most underrated skill in life is the ability to show up even when you don’t feel like it. Leadership is about constantly growing, staying resilient, and believing that the best is yet to come. Surround yourself with a great team because no one is an expert in everything. The strongest leaders recognize that success isn’t about doing it alone but about fostering collaboration and lifting others up along the way."

Looking Ahead

As she steps into this new chapter of her career, Brittany Hardin is committed to driving progress, inspiring future leaders, and making a lasting impact on the property management industry. Her journey is proof that success is built on dedication, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
