Two homebuilders are planning to construct affordable houses near a proposed crystal lagoon in Rowlett.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Meritage Homes will build 57 cottage-style homes and K. Hovinian Homes will build 47 houses at Bayside, a proposed destination-style development near Lake Ray Hubbard.

The homes will range between 1,867 and 2,800 square feet and be priced below $300,000.

“Our elevated vision for Bayside is an authentic lake-front resort community and we are pleased to have K. Hovnanian and Meritage bring 104 waterfront homes to Bayside. Developing these houses will be a big step in bringing our Bayside vision to life,” Tom D’Alesandro, lead development partner of Bayside District Partners, said in a prepared statement to the DMN.
